Matt Hankes, PT, DPT, ATC, LAT
Physical Therapist
Matt was born and raised in Wisconsin. He attended college at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse. He held internships with the San Diego Chargers, and he was hired by the Green Bay Packers after obtaining a degree in Athletic Training. After receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, he worked at Mayo Clinic Health Sciences as an outpatient Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer. He has worked primarily in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine since graduating in 2008. He has been the clinic director in Post Falls since 2020.
Matt and his wife, Leigh Ann, have lived in North Idaho since 2011. Their hobbies include all things Idaho: skiing, hiking, camping, flying fishing and hunting. Matt and Leigh Ann have two children, Hannah (8) and Elise (2).
On February 4th, 2023, Matt received a heart transplant after living with a congenital condition for much of his life. He considers himself fortunate to be given a second chance at life, and he is grateful for today. Matt also hopes he can show the importance of organ donation by sharing his story.
Matt enjoys getting to know his patients on a personal level and designing a plan of care to help them achieve their goals.
